Filler

Can you see it? The daylight visible through my living room wall?

Well, today, this part of the wall became this:

And then, I went upstairs to pull the duvet cover and sheet and pillowcases off the bed for the laundry, and through the window I heard a conversation that included this:

"Oh, don't worry about it. It's really just the outside of the beam that supports the load. The inside's just filler."

I do not think the two goofballs working on my house should hire out their services to anyone but deaf people. They do good work, but they also worry the occupant.
